Latinoamerica21 leaves X (ex Twitter)

In Latinoamérica21 (L21) we have decided to cease posting on our official X (formerly Twitter) accounts from Monday, November 25. This carefully and rigorously evaluated decision stems from X no longer meeting the standards of reliability, truthfulness, and freedom of expression essential to our mission.

Since its founding, L21 has been committed to improving citizens’ capability for critical judgment on the most relevant issues in the region, always in defense of democracy, dialogue, and the culture of peace. However, X’s business and editorial decisions have clearly contradicted these principles, creating an environment that does not favor the exchange of knowledge or the protection of the fundamental values we defend.

While social networks are essential tools for the dissemination of our content, X has been transformed into a toxic space that hinders our purpose. Therefore, we invite our readers to follow us on our website, on other social networks and also on Bluesky, where you can follow our account: @latinoamerica21.bsky.social.

X users will be able to continue sharing our content even if L21 will not actively participate to remain faithful to our mission of promoting truthful information, free of manipulation and respectful of democratic principles.
